I used a pouring effect to achieve a free form background for this painting to contrast with the realistically painted trumpet flowers and hummingbird. I wanted to create a semi-surreal dream-like quality. I added glass and metallic beads to my paint to enhance the sparkle and give a sense of whimsy and joy. Float about with the hummingbird and catch a drink from each bloom, inviting you in to enjoy the beautiful blooms of summer!
